London-based Third Space Learning raised a £1.5 million Series A from Ananda Social Venture Fund and Nesta Impact Investments with participation from existing investors.
Founded in 2011 by Tom Hooper, Third Space Learning offers tailored one-to-one math tutoring via the Internet to at risk students in the UK. With this round included the startup has raised around £2.5 million to date.
Third Space Learning works together with the schools, and teachers are actively involved in the process of creating individual learning paths for the students who need extra help.
Third Space Learning is Hooper’s second venture in the education technology and tutoring space. He sold his first startup Brightspark to TSL Education just six months after its official launch.
The new investment will be used to accelerate the growth in the UK as well as new features and new teaching centres around the globe.
