TES Global (formerly TSL Education) announced that current COO Rob Grimshaw will become the company’s CEO on March 31st 2015. Current CEO Louise Rogers will take the role of Chair.
Grimshaw joined TES Global in November 2014 coming from FT where he had worked for 16 years. During his time at FT Grimshaw oversaw the implementation of the digital subscription model, adding 455,000 digital subscribers who generate two-thirds of FT’s revenue.
As Richard Taylor pointed out on Twitter, TES Global seems to prepare itself for more competitive times. After announcing a new paid option of its TES Resources portal in July, the company is now looking for a Director of US Marketing.

One of the tasks mentioned in the job description is
“The marketing launch and growth of the TES Resources platform in the US from overall strategy to day to day implementation”
This puts TES Global in direct competition with TeachersPayTeachers which raised a venture round from leading investors in May 2014 with plans to expand its business to Europe. The startup also appointed a new CEO in August, namely former Etsy COO Adam Fried who joined TpT’s board of directors as part of the venture round.
TES Global now counts over 7 million members and over 800,000 teaching resources.
