FUNDED: Lingvist raises $8 million Series A

Lingvist, an adaptive learning platform for languages, raised a $8 million Series A led by Rakuten with participation from existing investors Smartcap, Inventure and Jaan Tallinn.

Founded in 2013, Lingvist raised a €1 million Seed round last year and has signed up over 100,000 learners. The platform claims to teach a language in 200 hours.

Estonian language learning startup Lingvist announced a €1 million Seed Round led by SmartCap with participation of Inventure and several angel investors today.

Lingvist is also taking part in the TechStars London 2014 Cohort.
