According to deutsche-startups.de VibeWrite (formerly Lernstift) is bankrupt. The Munich, Germany based edtech startup has been working on a digital pen that automatically recognizes mistakes and notifies the learner through subtle vibration.

Pope Francis launches Global Online School Network Scholas.Social

Pope Francis officially launched Scholas.Social at a dedicated event in Vatican City. Scholas.Social is a new global, multi-religious and multi-cultural network that aims to connect schools through collaboration, encounter and shared interest.

The platform enables students and teachers across the globe to share projects and learn from each other. They can ask for help which can be given in different ways, from sharing the project over monetary or resource donations to volunteering in the project. This way, Scholas.Social takes a page from the crowdfunding playbook but adds non-monetary ways to support, as well.

Turning the Mingoville Fun Clock App into a Physical EduWatch

Savivo, the Danish company behind educational platforms and apps like Mingoville and Mondiso, aims to bring one of its apps into the real world through an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign.

The Mingoville Fun Clock was introduced in early 2012 when Stephan Stephensen, founder and CEO of Savivo, recognized the opportunity to teach kids the analog clock using touch screen devices like the iPad. We covered the project in an interview with Stephensen and a review of the app by Alicia Chang.
