EDBRIEF: Applications open to Start Planet NI

Start Planet NI is a tech accelerator program located in Belfast, Northern Ireland. For its first cohort, Start Planet NI will host 10 tech startups – five from Northern Ireland and five from across the globe.

The program runs over the course of three months, from November 1st 2015 to January 31st 2016 and is located at xcltr, a coworking space in Belfast. This is not a virtual accelerator program, hence the team needs to relocate to Belfast for at least three months.

Key criteria to apply for the accelerator program include immediate global market potential, pre-investment stage, less than 24 months in business among others.

Each successful startup will receive £15,000 in seed funding in return for 8% equity. A total of 2% of equity, however, will be placed into the Founder’s Fund for the benefit of each team founder(s). There are also an additional £250,000 in equity funding available to each cohort.

Applications are due Friday, September 18th at midnight.
