EDBRIEF: Speexx raises $5 million Series A

Speexx, a German-based corporate language training provider, has raised a $5 million Series A from Ventech and Alto Invest.

Founded in Munich in 1994 by Alfred Ertl, Armin Hopp and Jörg Koberling, Speexx expanded across the globe and now has local offices in London, Madrid, Milan, Paris, Sao Paulo, Singapore, New York and Shanghai.

According to the company, there are currently 7 million users across 1500 companies learning with the product. Speexx offers a “Perfect Blend” between self-paced learning and face-to-face sessions with language tutors using mobile and virtual classroom technology.

The funding will be used to grow the global sales and marketing team as well as new products and services.
