UK: pi-top raises £3.5 million Series A

London-based edtech startup pi-top has raised a £3.5 million Series A from Hambro Perks and Committed Capital. The three-year-old startup has raised a total of over £4.9 million to date.

pi-top specializes in affordable hardware and also creates additional learning software to help anyone to learn to code. With a combined total over over 20,000 units of its currently two products sold, the main target group for pi-top are ten- to 16-year-olds.

The startup will use the money to open an U.S. office as well as planning its expansion to India and China.
