Skillsoft, a leading learning and talent management company, has acquired Vodeclic, a Paris-based edtech startup in the video course space.
Founded in 2007, Vodeclic creates video tutorials for companies, universities and professionals, covering productivity applications like Microsoft Office, Salesforce or social media.
Vodeclic produced over 25.000 video tutorials to date, and its platform offers interactive assessments, learning analytics and social learning features like badges and certifications.
The acquisition comes shortly after LinkedIn announced its intention to buying lynda.com for $1.5 billion. The terms of the Vodeclic acquisition have not been disclosed.
Skillsoft was acquired by London-based private equity firm Charterhouse Capital Partners for over $2 billion in March 2014. The company is based in Dublin and currently serves 6.000 customers worldwide with 19 million students.
